The Biloxi, MS Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting a Low Vision Optometrist who will provide both inpatient and outpatient Veteran eye care assessments that include comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosis, planning, eye care as well as consultation. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team delivering high quality Veteran-centered care at our Blind Rehabilitation Center and work closely with the Low Vision Therapists.
Conduct routine eye examinations; provide follow-up care; treat visual problems; prescribe ophthalmic lenses; evaluate for optical devices and basic environmental adaptations; document and manage low vision eye conditions for rehabilitative purposes & provide shadowing opportunities for medical center residents.
Requires Doctor of Optometry degree, license, U.S. citizenship and completion of low vision residency program or equivalent low vision experience.
