Legacy Optometry is in search of a full-scope OD that is interested in providing compassionate, state-of-the-art optometric care in Susanville, CA. This practice is the only practice within 80 miles, and sees full-scope care, from pediatrics to geriatrics, from urgent care to ER care. As a result, an OD with a full scope license in CA (Glaucoma/TPAs) is preferred. This practice is equipped with state-of-the-art technology in glaucoma and macular degeneration management (Optovue OCT, Virtual Field full threshold fields, pachymetry, retinal imaging, iCare tonometry, and more), and will continue to stay advanced in full medical scope eye care.
Susanville, with a population of 17000, is located in Lassen County, CA, and is in the middle of the beautiful northern Sierras. There is wonderful fishing, hiking, biking, and lakes all within a 60-mile radius. If you enjoy the outdoors, space to yourself, and all of the seasons, Susanville would be a great fit for you.
Full time will be considered as 4 days/week with patients (Mon-Thu) with occasional Friday training partial days for our team. This position will have a starting salary of $120,000/year, with a $5000 signing bonus as well as production incentives (Salary will be $120,000/year or 17% of net charges, whichever is higher).
2 weeks of paid vacation will be offered (and grown upon over time), as well as an executive bonus plan that will begin at 6 months of continuous employment. We at Legacy Optometry want to create a position for a long-term career for the right OD.

Dr. Troy Humphreys, O.D., FAAO
Dr. Troy Humphreys grew up in Sparks, Nevada, and received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1996. He received his doctorate of Optometry with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2000. Dr. Humphreys received his fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) in 2005.
Dr. Humphreys was the Nevada Optometric Association Doctor of Optometry of the Year in 2016, and is the current President of the Nevada Optometric Association. He currently is an adjunct clinical professor of Optometry for Pacific University and has interests in general medical eyecare, dry eye treatments, refractive surgery management including LASIK, PRK, and Implantable Collamer Lenses (ICLs). Dr Troy spent internships at Bassett Community Hospital in Fairbanks, Alaska and the Pacific Cataract & Laser Institute in Bellevue, Washington.
?Dr. Humphreys enjoys the outdoors and is an avid skier, hiker, mountain biker, and outdoorsman and enjoys sharing these passions with his wife and two young children. He is a licensed private pilot and loves to explore the skies above the We...stern US. He further enjoys traveling to provide eyecare to the less privileged. He has served thousands of patients in Costa Rica, Honduras, and Mexico during the past 10 years, and will continue to do so. He is humbled to transition the much needed Optometry legacy for the Lassen County population!
