Full-time/Part-time Optometrist needed for private practices in Westchester and Dutchess Counties, NY. The offices are located in beautiful Hudson Valley region and only 40- 60 minutes drive to New York City. We are primary eye care setting with emphasis on refraction, contact lens fitting and ocular disease. The responsibilities of Optometrist are described as below but not limited to:
1.Provides primary vision care.
2.Examine eyes to diagnose vision problems and eye diseases.
3.Tests patient visual acuity, depth and color perception and the ability to focus and coordinate the eyes.
4.Prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses and provides vision therapy and low-vision rehabilitation.
5.Analyzes test results and develops a treatment plan. Administers drugs to patients to aid in the diagnosis of vision problems and prescribe drugs to treat eye diseases.
6.Provide preoperative and postoperative care to cataract patients as well as to patients who have had laser vision correction or other eye surgery.
7.Diagnoses conditions caused by systemic disease such as diabetes and high blood pressure, referring patients to other health practitioners as needed.
